A: Easytutor.com is a complete online tutoring service. You have anytime access to tutors that provide help in more than 40 subjects, including math, science, social studies, English, Advanced Placement and test prep. Tutoring sessions take place in our easy-to-use online classroom, using an intuitive digital whiteboard that runs in your web browser. Easytutor.com can help students comprehend difficult concepts and obtain better grades by connecting them with experienced tutors in a digital classroom. Whether you need help understanding a complex topic or want to take your knowledge to the next level, we have tutors who can help you achieve your academic goals and achieve confidence for life.
Q: What’s the difference between EasyTutor.com and other online tutoring programs?
A: At EasyTutor.com, we have your student take a Learning Connections Inventory, administered by Learning Connections Resources. This brief set of questions provides insight into how your student’s preferred learning method, allowing our tutors to cater the learning process specifically to their needs. No one else can match our system for a personalized direct approach of learning.
Q: What subjects are offered?
A: Our experienced tutors can provide assistance with studying, test prep and homework help in more than 40 subjects in Math, English, Science and Social Studies. Click here to view a complete list of the subjects covered by our team of expert tutors.
Q: How do I connect with a tutor?
A: As long as you have Internet access, you can connect with a tutor. First you need an active EasyTutor.com account. If you don’t have one, click here to get started now. If you already have an account, just sign in and start a session any time you need help—24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
Q: Do I need a special program on my computer for online tutoring?
A: No, we’ll email you a URL for your tutoring session. Just click that link and you will be immediately placed into a virtual classroom with a digital whiteboard.
Q: Can the tutor hear me?
A: You will be prompted to turn on your microphone. Then you and the tutor can talk using the computer. You will also have the option of using IM.
Q: Can the tutor see my homework?
A: Yes, you have the option of sharing your paper with your tutor. Simply copy and paste the scanned homework page into the digital whiteboard and it will automatically load for your tutor to view.
Q: When is EasyTutor.com available?
A: You can connect with a tutor 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 362 days a year—tutors are not available on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas Day.
Q: Can I work with the same tutor again?
A: Absolutely. You can continue to work with your favorite tutor. If you need to connect with your favorite tutor immediately and they are working with another student, you can schedule an appointment or find another great tutor to help you.
Q: What if my tutor can’t help me?
A: If your tutor is unable to assist with your specific question, he or she will be happy to transfer you to another tutor right away. If you ever have a session you’re not completely happy with, you can request a credit for the minutes used. We will review the session, and if it doesn’t meet our standards for quality or accuracy, we can credit those minutes back to your account.
Q: Can I schedule a session with a tutor?
A: Students can either request an on-demand session with any available tutor or schedule an appointment with a specific tutor. To find a tutor and set up an appointment (at least 48 hours in advance), sign in to your account and select “Schedule a Session.”
Q: How can I best prepare for my online session?
A: We recommend the following: 1) Choose a location with few interruptions and little ambient noise. 2) Have your assignment handy. If you have a copy on your computer, you can share it with your tutor by simply pasting into the digital whiteboard, or drag and drop. 3) Have a phone handy. Occasionally there are computer glitches. You can still share your screen and have a conference using your phone.
Q: What if I can’t make the appointment I scheduled?
A: Please make every effort to make your appointment. If you must cancel, please notify your tutor as soon as you know you will not be able to make the appointment. If it is too late to cancel your appointment, please call us immediately at 801-256-6878.
Q: Are background checks performed on all tutors?
A: Yes. At EasyTutor.com, we take education and safety seriously. We screen prospective tutors to ensure we hire well-qualified professionals who are passionate about teaching one or more of our subject areas. Before any tutor is hired at EasyTutor.com, we perform background and criminal checks. As an additional method of quality control, our administrative team routinely monitors tutoring sessions.
Q: What are the system requirements?
A: Though our platform will also work with Firefox and Safari, the EasyTutor.com digital whiteboard works best when using Google Chrome. For iOS users, we recommend downloading the Chrome app.
Q: What are the rules during a tutoring session?
A: No offensive language or behavior is allowed via audio and/or IM. As well, our tutors are trained to not discuss personal information with students, and students should likewise not discuss personal information with tutors.
